Marriage Beam Connections
There are four options for attaching the ends of OPEN JOIST floor trusses to the “marriage beam” connecting side-by-side modules. Cost and framing efficiencies determine the appropriate option for the manufacturer.
Because of the end block configuration of OPEN JOIST features vertical side grain instead of end grain, end-nailing the trusses to rim is structurally-sound practice and it minimizes cost and installation time.
