Model Building Code Acceptance

ICC Evaluation Service has issued Report Number ESR-1035 and IAPMO Uniform Evaluation Service has issue Report Number ER-501 for OPEN JOIST, certifying compliance with the following codes:

Third Party Certification

Intertek Testing Services, using the Warnock Hersey Certification Mark for engineered wood products, is the independent evaluation/testing agency for certification of OPEN JOIST’s manufacturing process.

Individual Product Testing

OPEN JOIST floor trusses are the only engineered building components subjected to individual truss testing.

After assembly, each OPEN JOIST truss (12 ft. and longer) is tested to confirm that it will support a test load equivalent to 2.1 times the code-specified residential design load at the truss’ maximum span and maximum on-center spacing. This testing identifies any joists that cannot produce their required strength so no substandard trusses will leave the OPEN JOIST manufacturing facility.
