Allegheny Structural Components has expanded the OPEN JOIST truss line by introducing a new heavy-duty floor truss product designed specifically for use by systems builders…OPEN JOIST HD.

This innovative joist is 47% stronger than a 2X10 and 21% stronger than regular OPEN JOIST.

This enhanced truss is available in the common module lengths (12’, 13’, 14’, 15’ and 16’) and features 2X4 top and bottom chords for added strength. All the other popular features of OPEN JOIST remain as always.

OPEN JOIST HD offers new options for factory builders because of increased strength and improved configuration. OPEN JOIST HD floor trusses can be spaced as wide as 24” o.c. in a 16 ft. box and still achieve code-required loading. Or, manufacturers can reduce on-center joist spacing and offer the strongest engineered floor possible, resulting in reduced service costs.
